Paul and Steve Miller

I was just listening to Steve Miller's Anthology CD, I don't know if this was done on another thread or not, but just what was the deal with Paul and Steve Miller doing My Dark Hour. How did that all come about? I guess at the time it wasn't too hard for them to work together 'cause they were both contracted under the same label. This is just one of the few little trivial things I've never known.
