Donovan's "Sunshine Superman" album

Not too long ago I received Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man" and "Open Road" as gifts from a good friend of mine. I got really interested in him lately and so I decided to buy his "Sunshine Superman" album based on the prominence of the song "Sunshine Superman." The reviews are all great, but I do have a question that I was hopnig you guys could answer for me.

Many of the reviews spoke of different editions or versions of the album and as I browsed I notice there are  indeed many versions (excluding the very best and compilation albums of the same title).

I was hoping you guys could help me by telling me which version is the original or which one would be best to purchase.
