My sister bought me a Sgt. Pepper's shirt. I guess she isn't as evil as I thought.

I don't think you can see it very well, but it's a 3/4 sleeve shirt with black sleeves and a white/cream torso.

Totally awesome shirt, I love it!  Where'd she get it?!  Go give your sister a big hug and a kiss now.   ;D   :P

I have no clue. But she's not home right now. I'll hug her luggage or something. Anyways, I think I'll get punched if I gave her a hug/kiss.

I can't actually remember the last Beatles item I bought. I think it was an album about 5 years ago. I can't remember the first item I bought either, even though I do remember the first my sister bought - which was Please Please Me in 1963 (the single, not the album). Somehow it found its way into my possession in the intervening years. Love that Parlophone label.

My other sister, the one who didn't give me a shirt, gave me a Beatles guitar book. It doesn't have all of the songs, but whatever. Also, some of the songs are in a weird key. On the plus side, it's a good beginners book.

yesterday the most random thing ever happened. one of my dads best friends came over, and the first thing he did was hand me a plastic bag. in it were VHS video tapes of the following:

Get Back (Paul McCartney tour)
Put it There (Paul McCartney)
Fun with the Fab Four (rare, unsual Newsfilms, comedy, bits and interviews)
The Paul McCartney Special
A Hard Days Night
John Lennon "Imagine"
John Lennon "Live in New York City"
The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show
Magical Mysterty Tour (music)
George Harrison Saturday Night Live
Let it Be (music? doesnt say.....)
Washington D.C. concert (1964)
Tokyo concert (1966)
Paul McCartney and Wings "Rockshow"

and then he gives my dad an Imagine CD, and says to me, "i dont know if this is more for him, or for you." i immediatly stole it from my dad. what a great day!

^  I'd have started screaming if I were you.  Ahhhhh!  You are so lucky!!  It's like Christmas came early for you this year!   ;)  I love "Rockshow" BTW, and watch it way too often.   :P

The Paul McCartney special, is it "James Paul McCartney" the TV show?

Anyway...  I went to a nearby record shop to browse around.  There I found the Club Sandwich vinyl soundtrack to "James Paul McCartney", which I got excited over because I've seen various clips of it on YouTube.  I really love it, especially the little guitar medley that Paul sings with Linda.  I knew the soundtrack existed somewhere, but never thought I'd get my hands on it.

Steve Turner's book A Hard Day's Write is pretty poor. For quite a few of the songs he clearly had nothing to say, and didn't seem to have done much in the way of research. I see it's been split into two volumes now, like the red and blue albums, but Revolution In The Head is a better read every time.

What's the Gospel book like?

I'm really fond of A Hard Day's Write, personally.

um, i have no idea! on the front theres a picture of Paul, and it says, "Includes Clips Of:- I Saw Her Standing There-Peggy Sue-Maybe I'm Amazed- Helen Wheels-Hi, Hi, Hi-My Love-Band on the Run-Long Tall Sally-Tug of War"

then, on the back, it says, " The Paul McCartney Special- Filled with rare music and newsreel clips, thi is a personal, in-depth retrospective of one of rock's most influential recording artists. McCartney chronicles his life and times, including his relationship with John Lennon, the Beatles and their break-up, his solo career, Wings, and the making of Press to Play and everything in between. Also featuring Beatles footage which no collector should be without."

its an hour in running time. does this help?

^  Thanks, FNU, that does help.  That does not sound like the "JPM" show after all.
