My senior prom was in 1968.  I didn't go because I felt it was counter-revolutionary to do so.

Thanks, Kelley! It's funny that his date's name is Maria, because that would have been Jeffrey's name if he'd been born a girl.  ;)

Maria is a pretty name. My middle name is Marie, the less fancy version which is quite appropriate.  ha2ha

Just as I was typing “Maria” the TV was saying it. Spooky!

So that's what a layered chiffon navy and shell pink gown with a sweetheart neckline trimmed with pink flowers looks like!   ;D

ha2ha  I suppose I should have just waited 'til the prom and sent the picture!

I think I know exactly how you feel, blmeanie. I feel like it was just yesterday mine still needed their lunches packed and help getting their snow boots on.

Thanks for the comments.  She's doing wonderful and I love this grandparent gig.  She has my wife wrapped around her finger.

I can see why! I’m so glad she is doing so well. Now we need a picture of her with you, Grandpa!

That’s a very sweet picture, Cor!

We packed up the dog and headed to Ithaca, NY to visit our daughter yesterday. That’s in the Finger Lakes Region and this is the southern tip of Cayuga Lake.

The park we were at when I took this picture has an interesting history. Between 1915 and 1919 it was leased by Wharton Studios, which made silent movies. The original building is still there. I didn’t know any of this while we were visiting, though. I just happened to notice a very old looking boat house when were on the walking trail. I looked up the park’s history when we got home and now I have a new obsession. LOL

You're going to become a silent screen actress?   ;D

I love the Finger Lakes Region of New York State.  I'll be going there next week for a track event at Watkins Glen International which is near the southern tip of Seneca Lake, just west of Cayuga Lake.

Aww, Kathy. I hope you get a chance to come back to the area soon. Do you still have family in Syracuse?
