photo editing help

I was trying to make this picture thing for a signature....

  I have this one beatle picture, it is color. Then I have this black and white image layered on top of it. I wanted to make the black and white so you can see the other image behinde it but still see that image.

 So, if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it!  :D

Well, I figured out how to do it. Totally by accident! But I used this thing called corelDRAW, and it won't let me host it. So, the computers lack of capability killed my dream.
