I'm actually skipping a social event tomorrow because I don't think I can take one more session of debates about the most recent numbers (i.e., of cases) in the area, how and where to get a vaccine, etc. It's all my friends talk about lately. So I guess I'm self-quarantining.  ;)  It's either that or burst out with a snappish comment.

I can only imagine. There are already 'way too many people who rely on spellcheck. I've lost count of the number of word mixups that get by that macro: marital and martial, underserved and undeserved, and many others. I even had one author submit an article with the affiliation listed as the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champagne.

OK, now I'm re-editing that original post, which touched on the backwardness of North Dakota. A coworker today (male, older) ended our conversation with "Good girl!"

I'm 53. Sheesh!

It's a good thing I'm not a feminist, because I'm pretty sure one of my more forward-thinking friends would have clocked him.  ha2ha

Can you imagine if tomorrow I said "Good boy"? 

I shared the anecdote with my daughters, who were appropriately horrified.  ;D

And no, I am not one of those women who barks at men who dare to be courteous and hold a door. Quite the opposite, in fact.

I think I said this on here just recently, but I really gotta get back East. Or at least out of the Great Plains for a bit.

My daughters caught up with their brother (my estranged son) last night and grilled him about any girls he may have met (and reported back to me, his anxious mom). I just ordered my daughters one each, of these as a sort of reverse–Mother's Day gift this year. As someone who has walked through fire (and no, I'm not referring to the divorce for once  ;) ) and come out on the other side alive, if not unscathed, I've raised two fierce, independent (yet traditional) women.

Just booked my flight to Florida for a weekend in June.  :)  Unfortunately, I won't be getting near a beach. But I can finally get a decent Greek salad.  ha2ha

I can't wait to travel without dragging three kids along. Bliss!

Thanks, Barry! I won't forget it. The capacity to travel was the only reason I got immunized. I don't really trust the FDA.

Wife and I are going in August.  Airline said no proof of vaccination needed,,,,,yet.  Might end up having to drive.

If there were any easy way to drive to FL from ND for only a weekend, I'd do it and skip the vaccine. . .  :)
