Do girls like The Beatles?

When The Beatles hit in 1964, teenage girls were wild about them.  Gradually, females seemed to abandon The Beatles as they became a guy group.  How is it today?  Do girls or young women relate to The Beatles?

I never thought of the later Beatles as a guy group. Their songs certainly didn't convey a sense of machismo nor did they seem targeted to a male audience. Even a majority their later songs were love-related and reflections of relationships. They certainly didn't write about football and things of that sort. The Beatles were a group for everyone, whether you were man or woman.

Perhaps he confuses it with their transition from a live band to a studio band. obviously, if you're a studio band you don't do too many performances and if there are no performances there are no hordes of fanatically screaming girls.

What I am saying is, The Beatles evolved in esoteric ways after Beatlemania.  John Lennon adopted radical politics.  George Harrison became a devotee of Eastern religion and thought.  Their "intellectualism" seemed to appeal more to males than to females.  Paul and Ringo stayed about the same.  Even they got married and had kids.  Lennon said he considered himself intellectually superior to women.  (I guess he was thinking of Cynthia).  He found his soulmate and equal in Yoko.  Yoko might be a turnoff to females.  Young men who view themselves as iconoclasts might see in Lennon's attraction to Yoko something they want to identify with.  Are we all thoroughly confused?
