I am losing it. I could have sworn I posted this already, but now I don't see it anywhere.  ???

Anyway, I wanted to share a pic of a housewarming gift that my closest group of friends gave me today at our weekly coffee get-together as a housewarming present: An original copy of the March 21, 1964, issue of The Saturday Evening Post, featuring (of course) the Beatles. They had it mounted and framed, but left the frame open (it closes with a hinge) so that I could access the magazine to read the article. So thoughtful.  :)

That's a nice gift!  The Saturday Evening Post ran the best articles about The Beatles in the 1960s.

Looks like you were raring to go, Barry!  ;)

By the way, I still have that sweatshirt...

How on earth did you as a little boy keep a white shirt so clean?? Or did your mother have some sort of magic bleaching powers??

Yeah.  I think I cured her of carrying that blanket around all the time.   ;D

It was always hot in North Carolina, not like the weather you have up there above the Arctic Circle in North Dakota.  A good part of the year I was dressed like this...

When I wore that sweatshirt, I tried my hardest to keep it clean.  We were living in officers' housing on the Marine Corps Base.  I had to look sharp!  :)

If the sweatshirt needed to be washed, my mom worked her magic with Rinso...

Awwww, one of my Lusitania prints came crashing down last night and shattered. I'll have to get it re-framed. I feel like one of my children fell and skinned their knee or something.  :(   ;)

At least the print survived the crash intact, Kathy.  Did you hang the picture with that sticky hook thing they sell to avoid putting a nail in the wall?  If you did, you now know they don't work.  :)

Command strips have worked really well for me; they've been holding up my other, much heavier prints just fine. I think the problem is that I hung this particular on on an exterior wall, and the temps were so low last night the adhesive didn't attach properly. (Darn North Dakota winters.)

So, a nail/picture hanger it will be. And you're right, at least the print survived!  :)

But the extra expense means I can't get that Normandie print I've been eyeing just yet.  :-\

I hope I didn't just jinx myself.  ;)

Right.  I know what you mean.

You should re-hang it just the way it is.  Those cracks add some charm to the print when one thinks of what happened to the Lusitania.  And that way you'll have enough to get that Normandie print you want.   :)

My phone has a "Throwback" function—that I really need to disable to save my mental health—whereby it springs upon me photos from a certain number of years ago. The other day, this popped up from 2016: My son in his tux for Wind Orchestra. :'(

Thank you, nim; I think so, too! Of course, I am terribly biased. I think he's the most adorable, sweetest creature on earth.

I keep urging my daughers to kiss him for me when they see him—just a quick buss on the temple—but they keep saying "I can't reach him!" At 6'3" he towers over all of us.  :)

Very handsome chap.

Yes my phone is the same. Suddenly a picture of your child (now a teenager) pops up from five or six years ago. :'(

Thank you for the kind comment, Moogmodule, and yes, I can totally identify with the "sudden" pictures. Some of them tug at my heart other than others.  :-\

My son worried about that as well. He was one of the later ones to hit his growth spurt, but he shot up so quickly he actually had stretch marks on his back. I almost went broke trying to keep him in school uniforms and regular clothes.

Got about 7 inches of snow so my son and nephew decided it was time to go play.

Brother had to pull one of them up the driveway.  Lol.
