Yeah, brilliant movie & performance by Peter Sellers.
I still think it's his best performance he ever gave! Such a
moving film! :)

Hear, hear!

I've always loved Peter Sellers. What a talent, but more than a little crazy. Here's a trivia question for Seller fans. Whose voice is he mimicking in Lolita? And he's brilliant because he actually sounds just like the guy.

I had to run this down.   Do you mean Dr. Strangelove?  Or Norman Granz?

Norman Granz founded Verve Records and one article claims that Sellers copies his voice (which was on some Verve albums).
But Clare Quilty has a bunch of voices/disguises in the movies (one like the Nazi-ish Dr. Strangelove).  So I give up.  Any hints?

I meant just Quilty's main speaking voice. Sellers is imitating someone whose voice most of us probably have never heard even though he's incredibly famous.

There's a certain thread in the Current Affairs secton that keeps making me want to post "I panicked!" But I haven't cuz that would be in poor taste as the topic is a serious one. But I did have to get that out of my system. Here's the clip if anyone's wondering why:

BTW, Peter Sellers was imitating Stanley Kubrick in Lolita if anyone was wondering. Which it appears not, but there you go anyway. And he sounds just like him. Brilliant.
