OK, what I mean is, choose some of your favourite artists and form a supergroup to match what The Beatles did. remember The Beatles had 3.5 singers, 3 songwriters.

Mine. (Imagine their all young again)..

Ray Davies, Brilliant songwriter, rhythm guitar, great singer.
Eric Clapton, Songwriter, singer, Brilliant Lead guitarist.
Phil Collins, Songwriter, singer, Brilliant drummer.
Brian Wilson, singer, Brilliant songwriter, Bass player (ok not as good as Paul)

And if you wanted to add keys, a young Elton John. Brilliant piano player, singer & songwriter.

Man, what a band LoL.

Think not.

Right time, right boys, right circumstance, right guidance, right everything.

All star teams can't write and perform elements in the background and support each other as easily.

Now if your cast of characters were playing Beatle songs, I'm in for a listen.

Jeff Lynne - guitar, vocals, songwriting
Brian May - lead guitar, songwriting, vocals
Mickey Dolenz - Drums, Vocals
Maurice Gibb - bass, keyboards, songwriting, vocals

All key guys in hugely successful pop bands. All nice guys apparently too. They’d get along.

I can see there's a certain age group replying to this thread. How about some millennials?

For my part, I don't think I can do this. I don't want to assemble already famous people together because they don't really need each other. The idea of pairing popular entertainers seems dull to me. That's already been overdone with various duets, etc.

For some real fun, if we could, would be to search the world over for musicians very similar to the individual Beatles. I'm sure you could find them but how could you in a world of almost 8 billion people?

The next question is this: Are we looking for soundalikes? I don't want that - do you?

Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) - Guitar, vocals songwriting
Thom Yorke (Radiohead) - various instruments. Vocals, songwriting
Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) - drums, vocals, songwriting
Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) bass, songwriting, vocals

Cheating a bit by having two from the same band but singing, songwriting drummers aren’t exactly thick on the ground.

No Loco I’m not looking for sound alikes. Just some interesting singer songwriters who, if working together, might come up with that beatlesque combination of critical and popular success.

I was trying to squeeze Noel or Liam into a lineup.

Knopfler is interesting as he has that Dylanesque singing quality to him. His guitar playing is excellent.

Not familiar with Chris Mars.

Chris Mars was an excellent drummer with post punk band, The Replacements.

They made a really good album called Let it Be

I would prefer not to use the Beatles as a template for another band. I think the mark of genius manifests in unique ways. So another Beatles might have their own characteristics. Maybe you couldn't match them up side-by-side or Beatle-by-Beatle. They'd perhaps have their own dynamic with varying attributes among them. Ever since the Beatles debuted, so many musicians have tried to copy them in every conceivable manner. I don't know of any precise examples but I think others have tried to create bands with members in some way similar to the individual Beatles. I do understand that we're not trying to create soundalikes but at the same time, that could be a consequence.

However, if I can come up with a fictional band per the thread's directive, I will. I need time to ponder.
