Led Zeppelin Drug Band?

I always hear people saying that Led Zeppelin was a huge drug band. Does anybody know if this is true and if it is whats the story behind it

Interesting thread, great topic for debate.
I think The early progressive rock bands of the early 70s took root in the late 60s. at this time there were a lot of great artists leading the drug tab. Jimi Hendrix, The doors and the great jim himself are two to note.
It all spilled over to the early 70s bands as if tarnished by a brush!
Personally I don't know who does what in the way of drugs, but if its out there and easily available to the likes of you and me, whats stopping Rock Stars? And lets face it rock stars have a bit more cash. Early 70s examples would be Purple, Free, Sabbath, Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd.  

Well thats how I saw it progress. 8)

Page was whacked out on heroin for a good bit of Zeppelins run. I'm not sure about the rest of the band though.

Plates of coke were passed around and pot was smoked daily! Once this band got rolling with stardom there was no stopping their masive in take of drugs! I personally think that's when their creativity dropped off and left them with just a shadow of their earlier work.

It really was no secret that Led Zeppelin did LOT'S of drugs, mainly heroin for Jimmy Page later in their career, and cocaine and pot for the others. Hence, the name Robbie Blunt for Plant. John Paul Jones might be the only one who didn't partake that much, as he was a family man.
