I just read up on him and i'll cut and paste this paragraph,,,,

**Damn,,,,wont let me cut and paste it. Guess i'll type it out.**

After a string of hit singles, Fury cut his debut album, The Sound Of Fury, in early 1960. Released in April of that year, The Sound Of Fury was the best rock 'n roll long-player (albeit only a 10-inch platter) ever to come out of England up to that time. Fury was singing in a killer rockabilly type voice and was backed by some of England's best rock 'n roll musicians, including guitarist Joe Brown, one of the few serious rockabilly players in England, and drummer Andy White, who latter played on the original release version of the Beatles debut single 'Love Me Do'. The album sold well and has been re-released a half dozen times since, including a CD version in the early 1990's, and among its strongest adherents is Keith Richards, who, in the a 1970's interview, declared The Sound Of Fury one of the greatest rock 'n roll albums of its era and one he swore by.

E-mail received from Freddy Cannon.

I also had rheumatic fever, but I survived.

I worked with Billy when I came over in 1959. I toured with Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent.

Now I'm coming back after 40 years to tour with Bobby Vee all over England from October 11 to December 3, 2000.

I'll be rocking.

Marty Wilde, who is still touring, always gives Billy a mention, and sometimes performs Fury numbers. His 1994 album, Solid Gold, includes a Fury sequence.
there is even a statue project....http://www.saunalahti.fi/~nallew1/pages/statue.html

Ain't Nothing Shakin' (But the Leaves on the Trees)
Writers: Cirino Calacrai, Eddie Fontaine, Dianne Lampert, Jack Cleveland; lead vocal: George Harrison

She's got a way that make me ask like a fool
Spend my money that she plays me good
I'm begging for her kisses on abandon me
So won't you give me someone loving me
Please please me.

Oh I keep trying hard to make her mine
No nay will we will flow nowhere shine
Still my party course my heart of heart
Ain't nothin' shakin' but the leaves on the trees
She lost my heart and through the way that key
Ain't nothin' shakin' but the leaves on the trees

There's nothin' shakin' but the leaves on the trees...

version 2 (?)

I found it out
What love is all about
And every day
It sure lets out
I see my baby
I get weak in my knees
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees
My pappie told me
There'd be times like these
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees

We meet the gang
And go to rocking Joes
The cats are something
On the heels and toes
I grab my baby
Tried to give her a squeeze
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees
Well why must she be
Such a doggone tease?
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees

She's got a way
That makes me act like a fool
Spent my money
Then she plays me cool
I begged her for kisses
On my bended knees
Oh won't you give me
Some loving, baby
Please please please

Though I keep trying hard
To make her mine
One day the wind will blow
And the sun will shine
Till that time
She puts my heart at ease
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees
She locked my heart
And threw away the keys
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees, yeah

She's got a way
That makes me act like a fool
Spent my money
Then she plays me cool
I'm begging for her kisses
On my bended knees
Oh won't you give me
Some of your loving, baby
Please please please

Though I keep trying hard
To make her mine
One day the wind will blow
And the sun will shine
Till that time
She puts my heart at ease
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees
She locked my heart
And threw away the keys
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees
There's nothing shaking
But the leaves on the trees

I'll keep an eye out on ebay. Sounds good. Should I get 'The Sounds Of Fury' or something else though?

I think it was Eddie Fontain (or Fontayne?) but I'm not 100%!

Billy's version was very much in the style of Merseysound whereas The Beatles' version was more rockabilly - in my opinion anyway! :)

Ain't Nothing Shaking is probably my favorite rock & roll cover by the Beatles.
