Food Songs!
« on: July 30, 2008, 01:19:01 AM »

So, I just noticed that there are a lot of BEatles songs that are about food, or have some sort of food in the lyrics. Being the forgetful person I am, I can only think of 3 songs: Honey Pie, Wild Honey Pie, and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds ("Where rockinghorse people eat marshmallow pies...") Will you all please help me remember the other food related songs?

Savoy Truffle was all about Eric Clapton's love for different kinds of chocolates.

"Eating chocolate cake in a bag"

The Ballad of John & Yoko.

Yea, I know it's just one line in the song, but it was all I could think of  8)

Everywhere there's lots of piggies living piggie lives,
You can see them out for dinner with their piggie wives,
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon.

That last line always cracks me up  8)

Ooh.... I find that line quite... dark, actually. "Eat their bacon", them being piggies and all... (shakehead1)

More food... I dunno if that counts, but in Three Cool Cats there's "splitting up a bag of potato chips". Yum ;D

Since we seem to be doing drinks as well, there's also
"found my way downstairs and drank a cup" (A Day in the Life)
"when are you free to take some tea with me?" (Lovely Rita)
"and sip their lemonade" (Rain)

This thread is making me hungry... ;D

Here, slang for police officers is pigs, or piggies.  And whenever we used to see one, we would say "I smell bacon!"

No disrespect to cops, This is was I was young and dumb.  But that is why that line always cracks me up  ;)
