I guess because after having revolutionised the rock movie genre by playing (admittedly idealised versions of) themselves, to suddenly step backwards and resort to being four Elvis's would have been a critical (and maybe commercial) disaster. And at least Elvis could act.
We can only thank God (and Brian Epstein) that they didn't.

Sorry about that, I overlooked that photoshop haha. I am having no success in finding it. Obviously Google is not getting it, I have looked through a few Beatles books so thinking I could scan it... but still nothing! :-/

Ha! But there IS a picture of John and Paul together after the break up. I even posted it in another thread once. I'll give you a hint and then you can google for it. My favorite drummer is sitting between them. So there!

Oh, and it IS the last pic of them ever taken together. John looks just thrilled to be there.
