Remembering 1974, the first year of the Fest for Beatles Fans

The year 2012 marks the 38th year for the Fest for Beatles Fans. Mark Lapidos held his first Fest, then known as Beatlefest, at the New York Commodore Hotel the weekend of Sept. 7-8, 1974.In April of that year, he met with John Lennon and told him about his idea to hold a Beatles fan convention.  "I'm all for it. I'm a Beatles Fan, too," Lennon told him.You can watch the fest live online (and catch up with some past videos) at http://www.thefest.com/live/
