What is -besides Paul McCartney- the connection between the song Yellow Submarine and the Wings-song Winter Rose/Love Awake?

The brass band, Black Dyke Mills Band released a single in the Apple Records label. The a-side was composed by John and Paul, the flipside was an instrumental of Yellow Submarine. The Black Dyke Mills Band was also featured in 'Winter Rose/Love awake' song from Wings.

What did Geoff Emerick do to Ringo's bass drum for the recording of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' to kill some of the drum's open, ringing tones?
