I just saw The Soloist.  It was an AMAZING movie!!!  I honestly didn't expect much from Jamie Foxx but it was moving!  It's not just a music movie, it's a very human movie, tugs at the heartstrings a little.

I've seen three films recently: Frozen River, Gone Baby Gone, and Two Lovers.

My fave was Two Lovers (with Gwenyth and Joaquin). A sweet surprise.

My top films of all time:

Diner
The Lady Eve
Almost Famous
Bringing Up Baby
Searching for Bobby Fischer

I saw 'Mirrors' a few days ago. I've been wanting to see it ever since I saw the preview with that really creepy scene of the mom who sees her son turn away from a mirror while his reflection keeps staring at her. Turns out this scene was pretty much the only cool thing about the movie. It's overlong, not scary at all and the story was cluttered and eventually just silly.

I`ve just seen The Boat That Rocked. A film about the Britain of 1966. I recommend it to those who like those times and who are fond of the British music of the 60s. It`s a British film with British humour, the actors are just wonderful! But I`ve got one reproach: some songs should come more to the fore and should last a bit longer for us to enjoy them more! Long live rock-n-roll!

I recently saw Velvet Goldmine, and while it is a very entertaining film, I don't think it was particularly deep. I really enjoyed it though. Great performances all around.

I have just learned that the film will be shown in America only in august. Maybe because it is Europe-made?

I watched 10 Things I Hate About You last night. One of the best romantic comedies ever, mostly because Kat was such a great heroine and not some dippy idiot.

I saw "The Lodger" yesterday, which is about a detective in West-Hollywood who's after a serial killer that exactly copies the Jack the Ripper murders. Even though the movie was slaughtered by most critics, I thought it was one of the better new movies I've seen in a while. It's just a classic 'whodunit' mystery where you change you mind about who's the murder about every two minutes. It's also shot very stylish, with really original camera work, dramatical classical music, a few subtile jokes and a really strong ending.

I saw "The Soloist", about a mentally ill violinist/cellist who ends up on the street, and the LA reporter who tries to help him. It was much sadder than I had hoped it would be, but a decent journey if you're into pondering the human condition (and like classical music).

I totally saw that "human condition" in The Soloist.  I loved it!  It really glimpsed into the psyche of a homeless person/a person with a mental disorder.

Last night I watched "Heathers" which is a dark teen comedy made in 1989 starring Winoda Ryder. It's one of the better teen flicks I've seen. I recommend it, but only if you have a strong stomach for jokes about suicide and the like.

I just saw Angels and Demons tonight.  Not as good as the book but it was better than the DaVinci Code movie.
