I haven't bought any Beatles vinyl for ages but just got myself a few cheapie items from eBay....

An original mono copy of the US "Something New" LP - which means I now have at least one copy of every original US vinyl LP.
Eight original 1960s UK singles - not in the best of condition but I got all eight for less than £5 including postage.
An early 1970s reissue of the UK "Collection of Beatles Oldies" LP for 99p! I have an original mono copy from 1966 and a reissue from the late 1970s, so this one can sit in the middle somewhere!

That lithograph is very cool.

I can't help but think about when I met Stuart Sutcliffe's sister Pauline. I was so impressed by her genuineness and sweetness. She seemed to appreciate meeting me, and I am not any kind of a celebrity. She just made me feel good, and she was so kind.

She wanted to give me a hug, so I did. It is one of those "Beatle moments" that you treasure for a long time, if not for a lifetime.

I don't mean to thread crap...
And now you've changed your mind, I see no reason to change mine --Lennon/McCartney

Last Saturday I got the Anthology 2 music cd.Sadly the place I bought it from only had it used and I hate getting things used even though the cd's weren't scratched or anything but there was scratches and marks on the case :( I really love the versions of songs on it.I hope to get 1 and 3 soon :) I have $13 and I'm saving up but I'm not sure which one I want to get next, probably the 3rd.I really badly want the Anthology DVD Box Set but I'll probably just ask for it for either my birthday or Christmas. It's funny because I never want anything besides things having to do with The Beatles and it stinks because there's so many products I want of theirs and of John's (like the John boxsets) but the only people who get the things for me are either my mom or my nana so it will take so many years to get all the things I want.Oh well,I'll just have to wait till I'm older and can pay for it myself.

£90 - so bearable - from the Hard Day's Night Hotel. Sadly when I went back recently to buy one of the others, it had gone. I still intend to pick up the one of George that have left at some point in the future (when funds permit)

Last time I was there, I went for the large Star Club of John. It was quite a bit more expensive, but hey, Beatles and guitars are my vices and I spend less on those than some people do on booze and cigs so I can justify it to myself like that!

They are the reissues Ramírez workshop in Madrid did since 2003 for Harrison/Voormann Ramírez. From this year (=2011), the rosette has become re-designed to fit Harrison/Voormann specs, together with improved tuning gear, improved headstock and improved sound...

I'm sure these items aren't that special but I just wanted to share my excitement. LOL Found the following at a thrift store called Goodwill here in California, .99 cents per record:

^UK first of White Album. Number: 0397542. The jacket is pretty worn and didn't have any insert. Oh, well. But it plays pretty nicely with little to no crackling and no skipping. Yay. LOL

^I saw the back of this cover - the huge Please Please Me part on the top left - while browsing through the crappy thrift store collection. I blurted out OMG pretty loud due to excitement. LOL. However, there was no Please Please Me record inside. Instead found these two records:

^First UK Mono of Rubber Soul. Despite having a few highly noticeable scratches, it played pretty nicely without skipping.

^First UK Mono of Help. Surprisingly this one is in a pretty good condition with not many scratches.

Total $3.96. Needless to say, I was in a great mood for the whole day. :D

Great find! I keep hoping I'll run across something at the auctions I go to. The people that frequent these country auctions don't seem like they are there looking for Beatles stuff so who knows; I may get lucky!

:P
You people from Jersey think you're so smart! We can't have an auction and a square dance all in one day; it would take too long then who'd milk the cows? 'Sides...we haven't been able to get a good square dance off the ground since Aunt Eller kicked the bucket.  ;)
