I was a late bloomer, too, BeatlesandBud -- didn't become a Beatlemaniac 'til I was 22. And I agree that, compared with them, every other band sounds second class to me too.

Love your signature line, BTW.  ;)

Thank you :)
In my opinion, the Beatles are not only the greatest musical act of all time, but also mankind's crowning artistic achievement.

The Who is the reason I hated the Beatles for so many years, ironically! I'm a devoted fan (as you know), but everyone always raved about the Beatles being "the best," and it always made me mad. (I was a not-very-mature teenager.) Then when I finally started listening to the Beatles, I was hooked and have been ever since.  ;D

Pity, all those years you missed out on both.

In Grade Three (I was eight) I did a Beatles-themed Christmas concert with my school. And I've been hooked ever since.

Welcome to the Forums davisM! Do you remember what Beatles songs were part of the concert?

My parents called me into the living room to "come see these guys" on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964.
I was hooked, started playing the drums and growing my hair long!

Yeah, isn't it funny!  They also took me to an area in St. Louis called "Gaslite Square" it was where the "beatniks" hung out. I remember looking out the window at the guys sitting on the corner, playing bongos and singing, and I thought "yeah, baby, that's for me!"

I was 11 or 12, around the time Nsync, Backstreet Boys, 98* and all those boybands were coming out, and my friends were getting into them... I thought "This is garbage! I'm not listening to all this crap!" Then my dad started downloading Beatles music one day, and it was instant love... haven't turned back since! Thanks Daddy  ;)
