Hello Goodbye

I watched it when it first aired on TV. It wasn't fatal but I did get yelled at the next day by my 4th grade teacher for talking about it. She told me I shouldn't have stayed up so late and that I thought I was so special ever since I got white go-go boots for Christmas. Not that I'm harboring any lasting resentments. LOL

The Beatles - Getting Better (2009 Mono Remaster)

I used to get mad at my school (No I can't complain)
The teachers who taught me weren't cool (No I can't complain)
You're holding me down (Oh), turning me round (Oh)
Filling me up with your rules (Foolish rules)

;)
I can stay till it's time to go

Very cool! I never heard the "foolish rules" part before! Just thought it was a variation on the "Oooo's"!
Sometimes I wonder if the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or imbeciles who really mean it!

I didn't realize it, either! I played the song on the way to church, and sure enough, I could discern "foolish rules." Never noticed it before.

I never caught that either. Now it comes right through.

Hello Goodbye

It's a little difficult to hear on the STEREO album...

You can get rid of all those others ones; you have THE mug now!

I did too.  One for me and one for my sister to commemorate me taking her twice to see the movie in the theater when it was released.  They'll be delivered in time for her birthday on July 4th.

I'd like to get that but my daughter bought me the DVD some years ago and it's special to me. She was the first person in this house to acknowledge my love of The Beatles.

The British Film Institute haven't listed their films as far as July yet but if they re-show 'A Hard Day's Night' around its 50th Anniversary (and why wouldn't they?) I might try to get along.

It will be shown at some theaters across the States that weekend, in limited release. I'm so mad; I'll be on a cruise (that I DON'T want to go on) over July 4, so I'm going to have to miss it on the big screen. So disappointed.  :(

Did you get the birth certificates back yet? I was thinking about that when I was I was helping a patron get a government document ready to fax the other day. His driver's license was supposed to be enlarged 200% and taped in a box but at that size it covered where he was supposed to sign. Things shouldn't be so challenging! I'm sorry you aren't looking forward to your cruise. I would have to do some serious psyching up for a trip like that. I am such a homebody, like my grandma was. My kids call me Myrtle every time I complain about having to go somewhere. LOL

Yes, thank goodness! I was so worried about that, especially given the skyrocketing number of missing mail since I moved into an apartment.

My father really wants the whole family together for this one week. Problem is, the trip is about 15 years too late. I fear we are beyond happy-family times. But who knows.  ???

I know how that can be. My mother got it in her head that if she could just get my brother and sister together for an afternoon things would be all better between them. As close as I was to them both is how distant they were from each other. Anyway, she wanted us all to get to together at Letchworth State Park, which was kind of a distance but we did it. It turned out to be a really nice day and a special memory that I cherish. But that was just an afternoon. A whole week together on a ship probably would have resulted in someone jumping (or being pushed) overboard! Seriously though, I hope it turns out well for your family.
