I just got this:

That looks like a great one, Kelley! I'll be waiting for your review.   ;)

It was funny because when I ordered The Guitar's All Right... I ordered some ocean liner books, too, including one on the
Lusitania that I was SURE I had, but I checked my bookshelves three times and found nothing, so I ordered an out-of-print
copy from the UK. Then I woke up in the middle of the night, realizing I had moved a bunch of books temporarily out to the
garage to make room for the Christmas village. Luckily, with the time difference I was able to cancel the order. Today I'll
have to grab the bin I put those books in. If I do have it, and I'm pretty sure I do, that means I can order this author's
next Lusitania book, which comes out in March. Yay!

Sorry the book standing  in my room long long ago i forgot at  ;sorry all

I have a lot that have been sitting on my shelves awhile, too, including George Martin's All You Need Is Ears and a few others. I
should probably work through what I have before buying more!

Same here. But the good thing with books is that they just sit patiently waiting for you to pick them up. They don't whine or nag. LOL

Good point! Maybe if they made more noise, I'd make more progress LOL. And I did find that Lusitania book. Yay, more money for
another book.   ;D

I didn't make it to Record Store Day but I ordered this from Amazon just for the heck of it.

Those both look great, Barry and George!

I didn't get a calendar this year. I guess I wasn't a very good girl last year!

I actually had to buy a 2015 calendar.  A local bank donated them to work every year, and then I retired and was out in the wilderness!

Well, that's it George. You gotta come out of retirement! My son always gets me a Beatles calendar but this year he got me another Beatles item.

The pictures are great; there's many I haven't seen before. I was going to qualify that with a comment about inaccuracies but I decided to do a little research elsewhere and it's not really bad...so far. I am confused on one thing though. He quotes Paul as expressing concern about their reception in America and wondering what they could give us that we didn't already have. I always thought George said that and searching gives me variations on the quote, mostly attributed to Paul but sometimes not attributed to any particular Beatle. I dunno!

Interesting! It's frustrating to read a book that contains a statement that directly contradicts another book. Whom to believe? With my recent book purchases (with Christmas money -- thanks, Dad!) I realized that I can vet ocean liner authors much more accurately than I can Beatles authors. And it's disturbing that some poorly regarded authors (in the case of ocean liners, at least) get 4-star+ ratings on Amazon. I'm much more confident shopping for books on ships than I am for the Beatles. Maybe that's why I'm more hesitant to shell out for Beatles books -- except for the Lewisohn ones, of course.

I guess the fact that there are so many Beatles books ups the odds of finding not-so-great ones. Now that I have several Mark Lewisohn books for reference I'm more focused on the books with pictures. I'm glad you've been able to treat yourself to some new books since Christmas. :)

It's always a good idea to check things out in the book thread before you buy anything.   glassesslip
