Two books: The John Lennon Letters, edited by Hunter Davies—thanks to Moogmodule flagging it in a different thread—and The Last Days of John Lennon, authored by James Patterson, which I bought with a bit of skepticism given that Patterson writes fiction novels. Both are on the way from Amazon.

One thing I wanted to get but could not find was a Beatles phone cover for an Android phone. All the ones I found online were for iPhones.    (My kids keep encouraging me to make the leap from Android/Samsung to iPhone, but I'm too much of a technophobe. And I no longer have a teenager at home to explain everything to me.)

I was so excited last night I forgot to mention this. I got the With the Beatles one.

The phone case arrived yesterday, so of course I had to take a photo and share it with a subset of my friends with whom maintain a group text chat. One of them said she hadn't been aware that I was a Beatles fan () and that she likes some of their stuff but prefers "singers/songwriters." I know she was referring to solo artists, but I have to admit my gut reaction was a flash of indignation.   

This case is going to really help my Beatles proselytizing.
