I've really enjoyed the noughties for music i've probably bought more music this decade than i did in the 90's .
Band wise Radiohead have stood out for me Amnesiac and In Rainbows are brilliant albums .
Travis  have also produced two good albums for me with The Invisible Band and The Boy With No Name .
David Bowie came back with his best album in years with Heathen and Kate Bush returned from the rock wilderness with her stunning album Aerial .
The Killers have impressed me their last album Day & Age is a real favourite .
Solo artists that have impressed me would be Paul McCartney, Paul Weller and Lily Allen .
And the big event as to be The Beatles remasters  :)

I liked Amy Winehouse's Back In Black CD.  ;D

And I also liked Paul McCartney's solo work. But I am mostly into 60s music.

Trying to mention cd's of this decade, I realised that there wasn't that much that really caught my ear. I came up with Radiohead - In Rainbows and Elbow. There were a lot of individual songs that I liked enough tho, but the albums with these songs on it were mostly disappointing.

Same here.

A while ago I made a mix-CD of the IMO most beautiful pop songs of this decade. This is the track listing:

04. Johan - Oceans
05. Zoli Band - Painful
06. Keren Ann - Not Going Anywhere
07. Brian Wilson - Midnight's Another Day
08. Camera Obscura - French Navy
09. Badly Drawn Boy - Nothing's Gonna Change Your Mind
10. Noir Desir - Le Vent Nous Portera
11. Dido - Hunter
12. Damien Rice - 9 Crimes (live @ Radio 3FM)
13. The Polyphonic Spree - Section 12 (Hold Me Now)
14. Sufjan Stevens - Concerning The UFO Sighting Near Highland, Illinois
15. Super Furry Animals - Run-Away
16. The Thrills - Big Sur
17. Babybird - Snails

A remarkable thing I noticed while listening to this CD was that overall, while I really love all these songs, it sounded a lot moodier, colder, more melancholic and distant than most of the older music I listen to. If I'd make a CD of my favorite 60s songs I'm sure it would sound a heck of a lot warmer and more cheerful. Sign of the times?

The best single for me from the noughties is this dance classic from Kylie , who would have thought the camp bloke from 70's Glam Rock group Mud would have come up with a monster hit like this in the noughties ?
