I feel your pain!
*angry rant*
Today was a totally craptastic day. Basically, I had to turn in a report with a partner and she screwed up some info on it. Needless to say, I didn't catch her errors. The professor didn't like a lot about our paper in general, so she is giving us both a failing grade on that report. But because she doesn't want to fail us completely for our midterm grade, she's giving us extra work to do on the side to try to salvage our grade. Whoopee, more homework.
It's my fault for not catching my partner's mistakes (although I wasn't that familiar with her section of the material...we agreed to split the report) but I'm just especially irritated that we're both getting punished, especially this harshly. I put in an entire weekend's work on that report and it was painful, and I can't believe all that effort got a 0.
Damn group projects/papers... You're only as strong as your weakest link.
BTW, Mrs L, if you're reading this--this is the same classmate I mentioned to you before, the one who was two hours late to my house to do schoolwork because she had to go to bleeping IHOP!!!
Ugh, that sounds really annoying
Sorry to hear!
I've generally been lucky with group work, in terms of the people I got to work with (not sure if they were lucky to get stuck with me, but that's another matter
).
Except there was one group presentation which didn't work well. I ended up being group leader/organiser, and tried to organise a meeting, but people didn't reply to their emails/phones until the day before the meeting. We finally set up the meeting for 1pm, and at 1.15pm one of the guys emails me asking "is that 1pm before or after daylight saving time?"
x________x
That was a bit frustrating
We didn't get a very good mark for that presentation.
In any case, I don't think that professor should have penalised you like that...
Hopefully next time you get to work with more conscienscious/organised people!
