Inspired by seeing a young, hip couple from North London (I liked them!) sifting through records and studying the sleeve to 'Emotions' by The Pretty Things on the TV last night ('Location, Location, Location'), I dug out the four Pretties' LPs from the 60s and will give them a concerted listen this week.
The debut is fair, but does pale alongside the Stones' first two LPs, but the revelation for me is the second LP, 'Get The Picture' (December 1965). If you like 'Out Of Our Heads' era Stones, you will love it.
I'd certainly rate it higher than the slightly over-rated (but still relatively little known) 'S.F. Sorrow'.
