Wings
« on: February 13, 2005, 07:07:35 AM »

I wasnt sure if there was already a Wings board, but I just wanted to asses everyones opinon on Wings, and the debate if whether they should be let into the Hall of Fame.

I think Wings are pretty good, I'm not sure if they meet the standards for The Hall of Fame though.

I think when Paul was inducted as a solo artist it was kind of a blanket induction with Wings included, how could it not?

Yeah, your right, but I had to cheer it on as it sounded good to me. PC was right also when he asked which lineup. I suppose they cant induct 14 or so people,

I think juniorsfarm is right, Macca induction to the hall of fame already included Wings

I never really got into Wings. :B...There are some exceptional songs amongst them though. Live N Let Die has to be one of my faves.

Hmm that is a great question about the lineup.

The only member I know is Paul.

It would also be interesting if Wings got in becasue then Paul would be a triple inductee, the only other person to do this was Eric Clapton (Solo, Cream, Yardbirds).

A Beatle should be a triple inductee

That would be cool! Plus, I'd love to see Linda in there. I know she wasn't THAT good, but she's better than some of the so-called "artists" around today.

Did you ever hear the dreadful taping of her at Knebworth singing along to "Hey Jude"? I hate to sound disrespectful of the dead, but it is painful. If anyone wants a link, just say so and I'll paste it, but you've been warned. Aside from her voice, I do have a tremendous amount of respect for Linda, if even for bolstering Paul and being a stellar couple. You don't see that very often with us 'regular' people, much less in the world of show business.

Yeah, I've heard it. Pretty bad. But geez, you dn't have to patronize me. If Liz Phair can be considered a singer, so can Linda.

Wait, I just listened to that again and I don't see what's so bad about it. Maybe she doesn't sound sound like Whitney Houston, but she's not THAT terrible.
