I think "Hey Jude" is his best song. A great melody as usual and probably the best lyrics Paul ever wrote. Even John said that it was his best song.

Was it John or George that referred to Eleanor Rigby as Paul's baby in the anthology?

Hey Jude, I think, changed pop songs for years, until the long outro thing ran its course, with Southern Rock bands boring everyone to death.
I think Let It Be would be my pick. Don't know why; it just moves me.

Changed my mind. Was listening to Hey Jude on the plane today. That's the one. Or one of the ones. ;-)

love them all, but'golden slumbers/carry that weight'is really great for what it was saying in that particular beatles period.paul knowing that the beatles were coming to a sad end,and penning a song that said they were all going to carry the weight of being a beatle 'a long time'.indeed it still rings true-all 4 of them will carry the weight for ever.pure genius.

No Paul song I sing to a crowd ever has a better impact and people joining in than Hey Jude, although I personally prefer many of his others, this is a safe 'master-piece' bet.

I voted for Hey Jude, but Blackbird needs a mention.
