Here comes Hurricane Katrina!
« on: August 25, 2005, 02:36:43 PM »

Well, my area is, once again, in danger of a hurricane, though this one not as bad -- it's a Tropical Storm right now, and the maximum it should intensify to would be a Cat. 1 Hurricane.  It's possible that my power won't go out, but it's not what I'm expecting.  Crossing my fingers though!

I'm not too scared. Cat 1 hurricaine isn't a big deal. I just can't wait until it goes away so that people in my area will stop talking about it:P

Yeah, I survived Hurricane Alisha in 1983 and that was a strong Cat 2.

I survived Frances and Jeanne, so this is nothing.

I saw the latest update, and it's hitting Ft. Lauderdale.  Weather Channel is overdramatizing it and saying, "OMG West Palm is getting winds up to 50 MPH!" LoL! So what? That is nothing.  I might lose power, which sucks, but this is such a joke -- I can't believe the canned goods and water at my store were sold out -_-

Better safe than sorry, I always say. But good thing you're getting tropical storm force winds.

It's pretty scary what might happen to New Orleans. A few days ago it was only a Cat 1.

Now it's a Cat. 1 with 95 MPH, so it's nothing too big of a concern.  Dunno how close your great-aunt lived to the coast, though.
