Would you buy a Lp cover?
« on: December 12, 2005, 01:58:52 AM »

I was in a record store and bought a mint cover of Sgt. Pepper no album? Just wondering who else might do this also? (Ps cost was $1.00)  I have it on mt dresser with a Hiwaian lay draped over the gate fold.

I would. But I would then hope to find a mint disc in a dodgy cover for a low price and match the two. I think I would protect it a little more though.

Yea I got the "Life" 4 pics off the "1" cd greatest hits and blew them up and put in a frame! Those original pics were full page in "Life" magazine the same one of George that you are using.

If it is an original Cover from the sixties I would buy a cover without vinyl, in the hope that I will find the fitting vinyl to it.

But if it is a cover from the seventies, eighties or nineties no way

I often chop and change LPs and covers - that way you're gradually moving closer to an album in perfect condition.

I got a VERY nice Parlophone Black and Gold label UK 1st press mono Please Please Me the other day! Mmmmmmmm ;D

Or calamari. I'd buy a VG+ to Mint Cover only. That sometimes is the most valuable part of the album. It's easier to find a decent vinyl copy of an album than a cover that is in great shape. Same goes for 45 picture sleeves. I just bought the 'All You Need Is Love/Baby You're a Rich Man' picture sleeve in beautiful condition. The 45 will be a piece of cake. I can't imagine Al giving up the opportunity to have a beautiful first addition just because the album isn't included.
