Well, I got to see the show in Vegas on Christmas Eve. It was awesome! I loved it. It makes me appreciate the album a little more that's for sure. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to go. It's amazing what they do. I can't even explain it, you just have to see it. I loved the way they incorporated the Beatles themselves into it too by putting together whole conversations from little snippets of studio chatter and interviews. They did it so flawlessly that they really sounded like actual conversations. They would also project their silhouettes onto the stage and have them walk around. It was very cool. The entire production was outstanding.
The theater was great too! From the moment you walk up they are blasting Beatles music, the floor is lit up and they've got this huge Beatles store right there. Everyone is either dressed up as an English guard with the big hats, a Sgt. Pepper guy or a meter maid. They all have to speak with fake British accents too! That was funny cuz they were pretty bad. This is all on the outside before you go into the theater. They also have a Beatles lounge at the other end of the casino called The Revolution Lounge. It's an interactive lounge. They have these huge letters REVOLUTION with seats inside the letters! There's a bar on the outside called the Abbey Road Bar and on the other side are portholes that project trippy Beatles images. They've also got Beatles music blaring for much of the day. Anyway, I was in Beatle heaven this week. Other than that, Las Vegas looks really crowded and ridiculous. I hadn't been there in years, so it was weird seeing how much it built up. It's insane. Probably what hell will be like except you'll be surrounded by Elvis impersonators and Wayne Newton music 24 hours a day for all of eternity.
These aren't my pics, I didn't take any, but I thought they were cool so here they are:
The entrance to the LOVE Theater. The box office is on the left, the Beatles Shop is on the right then it goes into the concession area where everyone is dressed up. The floor and some of the wall decorations change color and they've got Beatles music blasting all day. It was like Beatles overload for the senses.
A little further in. Everyone was taking pictures in front of the jumping Beatle's image.
By the concession area.
Outside of the REVOLUTION Lounge.
