My favorite moment was when Jack (Jimmy's brother) and I went into a room by ourselves. He wanted to share with me some unreleased music that Jimmy did throughout his all too brief career so we sat there and listened, getting lost in that incredible music. It was very emotional looking over at Jack during the songs and seeing him with his eyes closed, completely into the music and air drumming along to the drum parts that he did all those years ago with his brother. It is something I'll never forget.
One of the songs he played me absolutely blowed my mind. That was an acoustic version of Jimmy's song Too Many Miles. The musicians on that were Jimmy on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Jack on drums, Steve Marriott of Small Faces and Humble Pie on acoustic guitar and backing vocals and Mel Collins of King Crimson on flute. Jimmy's vocal is absolutely brilliant and it was a bit funny because I didn't recognize it was him singing! Jack smiled and said "Ah. That's because nobody knew how to produce Jimmy better than me." His voice is so natural on the acoustic Too Many Miles unlike on the Wings stuff.
